What Is Holistic Allergy Relief?

Some estimates suggest that more than 50 million American adults and children suffer from allergies. Live in Crystal Lake or Elgin, Illinois, and need safe and effective holistic allergy relief. You will be in good hands with Dr. Askenazi and the team at Advanced Allergy & Asthma Associates Inc.

While many allergies are simply uncomfortable, some allergic reactions can be life-threatening. Fortunately, innovative advances in holistic medicine can save the day if you’re an allergy sufferer.

What Is Holistic Allergy Relief?

There is no shortage of over-the-counter allergy medications, but how safe are they? For many people, these medications cause complications and offer little relief in some cases. With natural allergy medication and treatment, you can find relief in a way that’s effective and safe.

The first step is to determine the underlying cause of the allergy symptoms plaguing you. At our office, we will use the latest scientific testing methods, including skin patch tests and scratch tests, to better understand what triggers your symptoms.

The Best Ways to Treat Your Allergies Safely

Once we have determined what is irritating you, it’s time to explore treatment options. We recommend three basic treatment options for allergy relief.

  • Avoidance. The easiest way to treat your allergy symptoms is avoidance of the irritant whenever possible. Once the doctor identifies what you’re allergic to, the team can work with you to develop a solid plan to avoid triggers and take precautions. One thing you can do is install HEP filters. Other solutions include installing dust covers on the mattresses in your home.
  • Herbal remedies. One example of an effective herbal remedy is nettles, which can be an excellent antihistamine.
  • Saline nasal rinse. A saline rinse can help wash away the allergens in your sinus cavities. This can also help to decrease the risk of infections.
