I actually started at Advanced Allergy and Asthma Assoc. almost 4 years ago for an allergic reaction to my eyes. During the testing period, Dr. Askenazi discovered that I was severely allergic to bee stings. She immediately wrote me a prescription for an Epi-Pen and good news!, informed me that this was an allergy that can be COMPLETELY cured with venom shots in 3-4 years. I started the shots right away and had my levels tested yearly. I am so happy to say I am at a safe resistance level and no longer need shots! I have had such an amazing experience with every associate I have come into contact with both the Elgin and Crystal Lake offices. From registration to the gals who gave me painless shots, to the very knowledgeable and kind doctors, to Kim the amazing office manager in the Crystal Lake office, I have never had a bad experience. Once while I was at an event, I had to use my own Epi-Pen on another person and the next day Kim arranged for the company to send me out another one that same day because I was leaving on a trip. They constantly go above and beyond in everything they do. I no longer have to visit monthly for shots but that won’t stop me from bringing sweet treats to all my friends there! Look no further for the best medical care for your allergies!

I am a current patient of Dr. Askenazi. I have had such a wonderful experience, that I feel compelled to share it. I am not someone who usually writes reviews. However, I think after reading the previous review, that if someone read that, and did not give this office, this Dr., and Xolair a try (if it was medically appropriate) they would be making a mistake that could greatly impact their health. When I started seeing Dr. Askenazi I was on the highest dose of Advair 500/50, would have to go on Prednisone every time I was sick to be able to stabilize my asthma, and I used to get sick a lot! I also had to take my rescue inhaler quite often when I had any type of cold or respiratory illness. She was very concerned about the high levels of steroids I was taking and thought I would be a good candidate for Xolair. I have been on Xolair for a little over a year, and it has totally changed my life. I am completely off daily Advair, and have been for about 9 months. I do go back on it when I start to get a cold, but at the lower dose, and only for the duration of my cold or respiratory illness. I have not taken Pred in over a year. I also get sick much less frequently, and when I do, I am able to fight the respiratory illness much better. I hardly find myself using the rescue inhaler, and like I said, I never have to take pred to clear it. I also have seen some improvement in my allergies. I can honestly say without a doubt that this shot has totally changed my health for the better. Dr. Askenazi practices a high level of medicine. She is extremely intelligent and one of the things I love about her is that she is very academic, but has a wonderful bed side manner. She listens, she cares, and she takes the time to explain. She truly partners with you in your care, and that is a rare and wonderful quality. I also take my son to her, as he also has asthma. I have recommended this practice to anyone I know who struggles with asthma or allergies, or have a loved one who does. I do not know anyone is unhappy with the quality of care they receive.
