Advantages of Telemedicine – Safe and Time-Saving

COVID19 has dramatically changed all our lives in recent months, and the way that we provide health care is no exception. At Advanced Allergy & Asthma Associates in Crystal Lake, ILand Elgin, IL, we are keeping our office open with enhanced, stringent protocols to serve patients who need to visit us in person, but we are also offering new telemedicine services to enable us to provide care if you are unable or would prefer not to visit the office. Learn more about the advantages of telemedicine below!

Benefits of telemedicine visits

At Advanced Allergy & Asthma Associates, seeing and interacting with our patients is truly the best part of our practice. However, sometimes visiting the office in person can present an issue for patients, whether it is due to lack of transportation, a busy work schedule, or the need to care for children or other loved ones. In these cases, telemedicine visits are the perfect solution! We believe this new option is a great way for us to continue to serve as many patients as possible – both near and far – and it offers many benefits, especially during the current COVID19 pandemic.

  • Convenience and time savings: There is simply no way that is more convenient to receive care than from the comfort of your home – there is no need to prepare yourself for an outing, get in the car or find transportation, and then wait for your appointment to begin if you arrive early
  • Reduced cost: In addition to saving money on gas or transportation to and from your appointment, many providers charge less for telemedicine appointments than in-person office visits
  • Less exposure to germs: If you are at high risk of complications from COVID19 or other diseases, protecting yourself by staying home as much as possible is the best course of action; in addition, even if you are asymptomatic, you may be carrying viruses or other diseases that can harm others, so by receiving your care through an online visit, you will not be unintentionally exposing others
  • Receive care from anywhere: By providing telemedicine services, our Crystal Lake, IL doctors can serve you or members of your family no matter where you are – this enables us to treat new patients who may not otherwise be able to visit us in person

Many patients and healthcare providers have seen the benefits of telemedicine in their own lives, and it has been rising in popularity to effectively deliver healthcare. It is important to understand that telemedicine cannot be used for all healthcare issues, though. For example, if you need a test or treatment that can only be performed in person, a telemedicine visit will not be a viable way to do that.

Call us to schedule your telemedicine visit

We understand how challenging it is to schedule visits with healthcare providers during this time, and welcome both our existing patients and new patients from Illinois to call us to schedule a telemedicine visit. If you have questions about how the telemedicine visits work or would like to schedule an appointment, just call our office at (847) 888-8802. We are here to serve you during this time!
